Car Free Day, 2001

The inaugural Car Free Day event in Canada was held in Toronto in 2001. Matthew was hired by the Sierra Club of Canada and the City of Toronto to design the logo and poster for the event series.


This original illustration by Matthew was used on stickers and posters in a campaign to save tram service in Kyiv, Ukraine during the Russian invasion, 2023.

Spacing blog launch parties, 2009 + 2010


POP / CAN / CRIT conference, 2016

POP / CAN / CRIT was an annual conference, held in Toronto and Ottawa from 2016-2019, that focused on Canadian architecture criticism. It was a partnership between Spacing and Kristen Gagnon from Carleton University’s architecture school.


Going To School, youth transit conference, 2012

The Canadian Urban Institute hosts events for professionals and students in the city-building world. Matthew has collaborated with the organization on number projects, including this poster design for a student-oriented conference on public transit.


Campaigns posters for Conservation Council of Ontario, 2004-2008

From 2003-2010, Matthew was the lead graphic designer for the Conservation Council of Ontario, producing a variety of campaign posters.
