Matthew has dabbled in the world of aerosol art for over two decades. Recently, he’s taken on mural commissions for garage doors and structures. He also continues to produce small works of art on canvas.

STORIES: First Mural
My dad took this photo of me in 1990 in front of my first mural, painted on a construction hoarding in Bracebridge, Ontario (click to enlarge). The town asked young local residents and cottage-goers like me to come out and paint a section along the main strip during the summer. The scene I created depicted the name of the comic strip, Bank St. Kids, and the characters I was drawing at the time. The only thing I regret is the mullet. I’ve found peace with the decision to use the “Sun-In” product to get strawberry blonde hair that summer.
